Religious Education
"The RE curriculum is intrinsic to the outworking of a Church school’s Christian vision in enabling all pupils to flourish."
A Statement of Entitlement - The Church of England
At Ninfield, we take our mission to providing a high-quality sequential RE curriculum seriously and therefore use the Understanding Christianity resources and follow the East Sussex Agreed Syllabus, adopting a three-year cycle to ensure effective coverage across our mixed age classes in Years 3-5.

Development of RE Teaching and Learning
At Ninfield, we value the quality of the Religious Education we provide and ensure our staff are well-trained in delivering our curriculum.
At the start of Term 2, we held an Inset day to support staff's subject knowledge and pedagogy in teaching high-quality RE lessons.
Right to Withdraw
Religious Education is compulsory for all our pupils unless parents make a written application, to the Governors, for their child to be allowed to be withdrawn from parts or all of these classes. We respect the child’s dignity in this situation, aim to provide a purposeful alternative activity, but we would prefer that all children be given the opportunity to study this subject in our church school.
